About the charity
Napton Padel Club CIO is a registered charity, run by unpaid volunteer trustees for Napton and the surrounding villages and towns.
Our purpose
Napton Padel Club is a registered charity (no. 1216376). Our purpose is to promote healthy recreation, exercise and amateur sport for the people of Napton and the surrounding area. We'll do this by providing accessible padel courts, with coaching and training particularly for young people, schools and community groups.
Napton Padel Club is a charity. Any surplus will be reinvested in our charitable purposes, including support for local sports clubs.
Our charitable objects
Our constitution sets out the charity's objects. For the public benefit, they are:
- To promote community participation in healthy recreation by providing facilities for playing padel tennis, contributing to improvements in health, wellbeing and fitness.
- To advance amateur sport by promoting, facilitating and organising the playing of padel tennis.
- To provide accessible facilities for the public at large, and for the people of Napton and the surrounding areas, in the interests of social welfare and improving social cohesion.
- To advance sporting education by providing opportunities for coaching, training and participation in padel tennis, particularly for young people, schools and community groups.
What we do
As registered with the Charity Commission, the charity will promote participation in healthy recreation in the local community, specifically through:
- the provision of facilities for participating in padel tennis
- the making of grants to local sports clubs that provide facilities to participate in sports capable of promoting physical health, fitness and wellbeing.
- Two outdoor floodlit courts at Napton Sports Field, open 8am to 10pm every day.
- Free loan of rackets and balls for every booked session.
- A 10% discount on membership and court hire for Napton residents.
- Reduced membership for under-16s, over-65s and people with disability.
- Day Membership for people who want to play without paying a membership fee.
- Coaching for every level, including juniors and school groups.
- Any surplus will be reinvested in our charitable purposes, including support for local sports clubs.
Who we serve
The club is for everyone. Napton residents receive discounted rates, and players from nearby villages and towns are equally welcome. Members, Day Members, residents and visitors can all book and play on the same court together.
Around 37% of Napton households responded to our community survey in June 2025, and 98% of those who responded supported padel courts at Napton Sports Field. What people told us, and how we've responded.
How the courts are funded
All income will first cover the costs of running the courts, including paying our self-employed coach for the coaching he delivers, and meeting our financial commitments. Any surplus will be reinvested in our charitable purposes, including support for local sports clubs. No profits are distributed to shareholders or trustees, and our trustees are unpaid volunteers.
Charges for membership and court hire, and the club's share of coaching fees, will be how the charity covers the cost of providing and maintaining the courts. They will be a means of delivering our charitable purpose, not the purpose of the charity itself. Any surplus will be reinvested in our charitable purposes, including support for local sports clubs.
When the courts open, we'll ask members to pay from their Club Wallet rather than by card. Lower card fees mean more of your money will go towards our charitable purposes.
Building the two courts costs over £280,000. We are grateful to Sport England for their grant, and to Warwickshire LTA for a loan of £26,000 over six and a half years. We also thank RMF Installation and Services Limited, our commercial sponsor, for their continued support.
Donations will help fund the club's charitable work, from free loan of rackets and balls to coaching for young people, schools and community groups.
