Would be weather dependent? Currently use David Lloyd facilities at Rugby and they have a covered structure.
Where would it be located and would it encroach on the green area of the playing field or be next to the
current all weather courts?
The tennis courts are there and you already have to pay a considerable amount to use them. £15 for a one
off session or pay to join the club. I think it would be another commodity that would benefit richer residents and not cater to the needs of young families or young people in the village.
Possible light and noise pollution
Only two courts and how difficult it would be to get a booking
none
None
Noise.. I know it is very noisy and there have been complaints from residents in areas where these courts
have gone in.
No. Seems a great idea
No concerns. Please add the courts.
No concerns – I fully support this as a new initiative to provide more choice of sports activities in the village.
Just where it would be on the sports ground. Would be good to see plans
If it would cost anything or how quickly it would get booked up – also how do we actually book to use it
Facilities – bar/refreshments/toilets. I don’t think the current building is adequate.
Cost
Funding. Disruption to other sports during building process.
Potential impact on other activities?Would there be any detrimental impact for people living nearby?
No great idea and money generator for the village
Definitely not
Not at all.
A brilliant addition which will attract new people to the village
Booking courts/access. Current courts you have to liaise online with someone for access etc. Makes it over
complicated and puts us off, as hard to go as and when or encourage regular attendance. If booking needed then online booking system would be useful so you can do it on the day with ease.
No concerns, great idea
Presumably this would reduce car parking space?
No brainer!
No, I think it would be a brilliant asset to the village
No concerns, I think it would be a great Idea. ????
That it becomes very popular very quickly and becomes difficult to book a court.
None. Let those who will enjoy it, have it.
Noise – have heard there is a fair bit. Noise travels from the sports ground
Recent press.coverage re the noise from padel courts, what research will be done to check the possible
impact on properties nearby
Availability for people from the village as opposed to people from outside the village joining a club and
taking over.
Cost
Is it a fad now, soon to be forgotten?
Having listened a complaint by some people in another village on a radio programme that the noise is annoying and spoiling the peace and tranquillity of their village
So I looked the game up on google and I am in complete agreement with the people and that it will ruin Naptons peace and tranquility ESPECIALLY the houses and farms surrounding the sports field but the noise will be heard by majority of the village also the only way I can explain it is to have a continuall clay pigeon shoot on the sports fields car park i am all for sport and have played a lot of sport in my youth it will be most certainly the wrong thing to have in our village or if you have a building that they would be able to play inside this soundproofing of that building must be seriously looked into and up to the upgraded insulation to drown out the noise and I seriously think that all population of Napton should be informed of this and I am surprised that the health and safety have not insisted that ear muffs should be worn when they are playing the padel game please don’t think I’m being a kill joy I am extremely concerned for all the population of Napton and I suggest you look it up thoroughly on google to ensure you have the understanding of my complaint
Updating play equipment in the park and creating a community group for young people to discourage antisocial behaviour.
Question 6 poorly designed question.
Question 10 needs additional tick box: Not Interested!!
Would be nice to offer a beginner’s class for those who have never played.
I would prefer local funds to be spent on sports equipment that is free and accessible to all – specifically a
basketball net with hard ground big enough for 2 on 2, and a mountain bike track around the sports field (Like in boddington). I feel these will give more benefit to local people, especially to young people, and bring visitors to the village that in turn support out businesses – Padel may bring a few, but being fenced and paid for it will only serve those who can already afford to travel and pay for sport.
Happy to help source funding and plan either of the alternatives
If this proceeds, make it affordable for people in Napton as a discounted rate, but allow pay as you go for
occasional users. Eventually, they may become avid users and want a membership.
I think the more outdoor facilities there are in our village the better. Better for the health of all ages and
makes our community more active.
Multiple courts an option?
Ideally it would be covered for year round use and to protect the court.
A pay bar in the pavilion for afterwards 🙂
I’d rather you built some squash courts first
Involve disability groups right from the start.
Would be good players can use showers in the clubhouse and have a coffee or a beer afterwards.
It needs to be advertised regularly and booking well organised. I’m not interested but maybe someone I
know would be.
Residents always getting to the front of the queue.
Good initiative – well done Dr Tim
Could the showing it to the school children be a good gateway to introduce it to the parents ?
