Although there are a few income sources to finalise, it is looking increasingly that we will be able to finance the construction of two Padel Courts from the outset.

Planning Permission

Our planning application is scheduled for discussion at Stratford District Council’s meeting very soon, and we are hopeful for a decision shortly afterwards. From surveys carried out in the village, 98% of respondents supported building the Padel courts, and 90% said they would play, even though some people had never played before. That’s over 130 households in the village planning to use the courts. This level of enthusiasm clearly demonstrates the value the courts would bring to existing facilities and continues to drive the project forward.

Village Benefits

To ensure the villagers benefit first and foremost, we will offer:
• Discounted membership for local residents
• Priority court booking for villagers, giving a one-day advantage over non-residents
• Free taster sessions and introductory lessons for local schoolchildren
• All equipment provided, so there is no need to buy a racquet or balls to get started
• Subsidised Padel lessons for villagers

Survey Outcomes

The key findings are:

• Most respondents expect to play with partners and friends, although a significant number would also like to play with new people of a similar ability. We will establish WhatsApp groups in the spring to help players connect and organise games.
• Most respondents expect to be able to book and manage games online. The app-based information system currently under review supports a full range of player services.
• A significant majority would like to use club facilities after playing for cooling down, refreshment, and socialising. We are reviewing all available options to provide this including seating areas and tables.

• Baking a cake for the open day we are planning
• Show people what the rules are
• Ensuring the courts are clean and safe
• Checking nets for damage and correct height
• Keeping an eye on stock of balls
• Supporting any club meetings
• Share Instagram posts
• Offering informal support to beginners
• And much more

We want your Padel Club to be open, friendly, and welcoming to everyone. Volunteers will play a crucial role in making that happen.
