It’s been a busy and exciting few weeks for the Padel Project!
✅ Planning Drawings Complete – all ready and approved.
✅ Ecology & Acoustic Reports – both returned favourable results.
✅ Planning Permission Application – submission imminent.
Unfortunately, our initial request for a grant from HS2 was turned down. We have expressed our disappointment directly to our MP, Jeremy Wright, who—like many of us in the village and surrounding communities—is only too aware of the significant impact HS2 has had locally. We continue to maintain hope that our case will be heard.
Meanwhile, applications for loans have gone in to both the Lawn Tennis Association (National and Warwickshire), and we are awaiting decisions from The National Lottery and Sport England. Fingers crossed for positive news on all these fronts.
We are also delighted to report that we have secured generous sponsorship commitments and private investment pledges, bringing the total raised so far to £71,000.
If you would like to support the project through sponsorship or investment, we are offering an attractive 5% annual return. Please get in touch with one of the Padel Committee—Tim Coker, Andy Riley, Tom Williams, or Ian Williams—via our contact page.
Membership & Court Hire
We have been working hard on a membership model that strikes the right balance: covering the costs of installation and maintenance while keeping prices lower than other padel courts in the region. We are confident Napton Padel will be very popular, with usage expected to reach 60% of available court time in the first year (likely much sooner), rising to 90% within three years. Here’s the current draft of membership and court hire fees:

We’ll continue to share updates as funding decisions come through and the project develops further. Thank you to everyone who has shown support so far—together we are building a fantastic new community facility for Napton and the surrounding villages!
