1. Court Construction
We have now completed discussions with OnPoint Ltd, who are ready to proceed immediately once we receive final confirmation to begin.
2. Licensing Update
At the Napton Parish Council (NPC) meeting on 1 June 2026, Councillor Williams provided a very helpful update. Andrew Riley, Napton Padel Club Chair, attended the Parish Council meeting and expressed our thanks to Councillor Williams for his continued support and hard work.
Councillor Williams confirmed that:
✓ the council sub-group he chairs had met and agreed revised versions of the licence and sub-lease.
✓ These updated versions had been submitted back to NPC solicitors for review and approval.
Napton Padel Club had been asked to discuss a possible start date with OnPoint Ltd and they proposed it be the end of June. NPC confirmed this as an aspiration subject to final licence and sub-lease agreement.
Since that meeting, a further iteration of the licence to allow the NPC sub-lease has been circulated to the working group members. This is currently being reviewed by both the Council and the Club. With only one clause remaining to be resolved, we are optimistic that the agreement will be finalised shortly, enabling construction to commence.
3. Funding Arrangements
As we mentioned in previous newsletters, we have secured approximately £140,000, which is sufficient to complete the groundworks and construction of the first padel court.
A further £100,000 is required to deliver the second court. To achieve this, we are actively pursuing a combination of additional loans, grants, and revenue generated from operating the first court.
Our intention is to begin construction of the second court within six months of the first court opening.
4. Launch Event
Once a construction start date is confirmed, we will begin planning a launch event. OnPoint Ltd has advised that construction and commissioning will take approximately 6–8 weeks.
5. Membership
In June last year, we conducted a village survey, which received an excellent response rate of 37% of households, with 98% of respondents supporting the project. Since then, over 100 local residents have registered via our website and social media channels to receive more detailed email updates about developments and membership. We will send out further information if you are interested in becoming a member shortly, once a launch date is confirmed.
We are also exploring a Foundation Membership, which would include:
✓ Guaranteed membership on opening
✓ Recognition as a founding member
✓ Priority access to court bookings
✓ Preferential rates for introductory coaching sessions
✓ Other benefits
If you are interested in learning more, please contact Tim Coker at info@naptonpadel.org
6. Court Booking Arrangements
Court bookings will be managed through the My Clubhouse app. This platform will allow members to:
✓ View real-time court availability
✓ Book courts and invite other players
✓ Make payments securely
✓ The system will also enable automated, secure access to the court and control of floodlighting where required.
7. Thank You
We would like to extend a sincere thank you to the many volunteers who have contributed their time and effort to support Napton Padel Club.
We are also grateful to
RMF Raised Flooring, our commercial sponsors, for their continued support.
