Court Construction
Our contractor, OnPoint Padel Ltd, has now submitted the outstanding technical documentation, which is currently being reviewed by Napton Parish Council (NPC).
Once these documents, together with the lease and licence, have been formally approved and the final part of the planning conditions staisfied regarding the retaining wall, we will be able to commence construction.
Licensing Update
The lease and licence arrangements involving the Coventry Diocese, Napton Parish Council (NPC), and the Padel Club were discussed in detail at a meeting of NPC’s working group held on 13 May.
All outstanding issues were resolved satisfactorily, and the documents have now been returned to the solicitors for finalisation.
The positive outcome of these discussions is that NPC intends to grant a five-year lease, which is a significant milestone for the project. This now enables us to resubmit applications to both the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) and the FCC Communities Foundation, both of which require a formal lease in place before considering funding applications.
If these applications are successful, we anticipate being able to progress the construction of the second court.
Other Developments
We are very pleased to welcome Darius Potten-Ravenshead as our fifth Trustee. Darius is a keen sportsman and strongly supports the introduction of padel as an important addition to the village’s sporting facilities, helping to ensure their continued development for future generations.
We are also delighted that Ruth Zawoda-Clea is now assisting with the marketing of the club. Ruth is the Founder and CEO of
https://www.wearetruly.co.uk/, a locally based marketing company, and brings valuable expertise to support the project’s growth and community engagement.
Finally, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone continuing to support this project, particularly
RMF Raised Flooring, whose ongoing contribution remains greatly appreciated.
