Exciting Progress!
We’re delighted to announce that the Warwickshire Lawn Tennis Association (WLTA) has agreed to loan us £20,000 at 0% interest, repayable over three years.
This is a major boost for our project, and we’d like to thank the WLTA for their confidence in Napton Padel, and also everyone who has helped us reach this point.
We’re continuing discussions with the National Lawn Tennis Association and hope to finalise those talks soon.
Regardless of their decision, we now have enough confirmed funding to proceed and build one court.
We remain committed to securing the additional funding needed to build the second court at the earliest opportunity.
Our conversations with Sport England will also resume once we have planning consent, as this is a key requirement for them to consider grant applications.
We have received several emails suggesting the club may benefit from issuing Napton Padel Club bonds as a way of raising additional funds. So we’re currently exploring the legal and financial options. If this is something you might be interested in, please get in touch via our website
As previously reported, we have issued tender specification documents to several specialist contractors.
We are meeting these companies over the next 10 days and we expect to receive detailed costings and proposals over the next few weeks. Once all tenders are in, we’ll select a preferred contractor and move forward with negotiating the construction timetable.
A big thank you to everyone who has already completed last week’s player survey. We’ve had a fantastic response so far! If you haven’t yet shared your thoughts, please take a moment to do so here.
Early results show:
• 67% of respondents anticipate playing mainly with people they already know, so we’ll be setting up club-based WhatsApp groups to help connect players.
• 20% of respondents are interested in taking lessons, so we’ve made contact with a qualified padel coach who’s very interested and keen to get started!
Thank you all for your continued support.
This is your padel club, and your input truly shapes its future.
