NAPTON PADEL PROJECT UPDATE

August Update

Since our last newsletter:

  • We have completed the required ecology and noise surveys.
  • Our technical drawings and plans for the site are now finalised.
  • We’re about to submit the planning application to build two flood lit courts at the Napton Sports Field.
  • The application will also request permission to install roof canopies in the future—once funding allows.
  • The image below shows what a Padel court with canopy will look like, initially though, the courts will be open air.
  • The site plan below shows the proposed location of the courts, shown in blue, adjacent to the existing tennis courts,

Progress with the Diocese
We’re pleased that the Coventry Diocese, who own the sports field, are supportive of the project, subject to us obtaining planning permission and appropriate insurance cover.

Why Padel, and Why Napton?

Padel is now the fastest-growing sport in the world. In our region, thousands of people already play—and demand is growing so fast that local clubs are full and not accepting new members.

At present, the nearest courts are a 35–40 minute drive away. Wouldn’t it be amazing to have padel right here in Napton, just a short walk from home. This is the vision we’re working hard to make a reality—and your support matters. Thank you for being part of the journey.

Stay tuned—our next milestone is just around the corner!
